So last night I was just catching up on some ME updates and found a link to a site that was streaming the PPV FT live. I thought it must be a joke but decided to chekc it out. It was for real. And it was sloooooooooow and boooooooooring. No wonder it took them 16 hours. I watched when they were 4-handed and every hand took forever!
So, what do I think of the FT? I think Yang did an excellent job and most of the other players played like complete monkeys. Especially Lee "monkey boy" Watkinson who, with all his experience, shoved 49xBB with A7o. Are you kidding? What kind of play is that? At the very best you are dominated. At the very worst you are up against a pocket pair and have 3 outs!
And that crazy Hilm who moved all in with a flush draw? You can make those moves when you have a massive stack and can take a hit, but not when it's you tournament life at stake. How do you go from FT chip leader to out in 9th in less than an orbit?
I think Yang played a very aggressive game and got everyone so scared that they didn't know what to do with him. So good job Yang! Well deserved.

I am heading to Seattle and have a free evening. I know that Washington state is one of those "illegal online poker" states but has a bunch of cardrooms. Does anyone know a good place to go play in Seattle? I might try out some live poker.....

Now that's some funny table chat right there. I laughed out loud.
As for Hilm, keep in mind, that is how he made it to the final table. Pushing small edges and huge draw hands to put players to tough decisions or have a chance to draw out and be a huge contingent in the game. He was only playing the way he has built his game to play. It's the "you must be willing to die" mantra and he played it to the max...
